Using Relay to Control 220v Bulb that have Battery
This project is using a relay to control a light bulb with 220v that is equipped with a Battery. We're using 220v to light the light bulb when we need to just like in the picture on the right. So we using switch to turn on and off so when we want to turn off the light. Instead of using it directly we use a relay as another switch to control the light.
So in the Picture the Schematic the bulb is using its own battery to light itself. So when the light is out the bulb is automatically light on its own and we also can turn it off with the switch that we connect just like the picture.
This project we need some component like:
- One Relay 5v (x1)
- LED (Red, Blue, Green,..., x1)
- Resistor 220R (x1)
- Diode 1N4007 (x1)
- T-block 3Pins (x1)
- PCB board
- Pin Header 2Pins (x1)
- Acid
- First: We draw the schematics in Proteus just like the picture above. We must connect all the pin correctly before we move on to the next step just like the picture below.
- Second: We move on to draw PCB also in proteus. In PCB we can align it to make it more beautiful so that when we make it looks great. Just like in the picture below. After u draw the PCB you can check how is your 3D so that u can check if you like the way your PCB or not.
- Third: After that, we print the PCB layout as the picture is shown below.
- Fourth: After you print it out we iron the PCB to our PCB Board correctly. When you finish ironing you need to put it in cool water at least 5 min before rubbing to remove the paper.
- Fifth: When u finish the last step we put the finished Board into the acid to remove the unnecessary copper that we don't need. Mostly we do this step for about 30-minute max (If your acid is good).
- Sixth: After you're done you clean it with fresh water. Then you drill the holes on the board. Afterward, you put all of your components in the right place so that you can solder it.
We move on to the testing!
- We first connect VCC (5v) to one of the Pin-Header and GND to the other pin of the Pin-Header from Micro-Controller. (Note: you must remember which pin is VCC and GND).
- The LED should turn on that indicates there are currently in our relay.
- Afterward, we connect our bulb wire(L) to one of our T-Block Pins (COM) and another wire(N) to another T-Block pin (N.O).
- The light should turn on but when there's no power the light battery won't turn on.
- So we connect another wire (Separate wire) to T-Block Pin (N.C) to the bulb wire (N) just like in the picture.
- After this step, we should be able to see that when there is power the bulb should be able to turn on with 220v, But when there's no power the bulb should turn on with its own battery just like in the picture.
