Project Relay 4

Controlling Motor through 4 Relay with 3 button

Forward, Reverse and Stop

In this project, we will be making a motor control relay which has three button consist of Forward Button, Reverse Button and Stop Button. This relay can control any DC motor whether you want it to go forward or Reverse or even stop you can do it simultaneously. The Circuit is Simple and Easy to understand if you have followed me on the previous projects. So Using Relay to Control DC motor with 3 Button Forward, Reverse and Stop, Start now.
The Component in this project isn't so different from the other project. We need:

  • T-Block 2 Pins (x3)
  • LED (Any color x3)
  • N.O Button (x2)
  • N.C Button ( Homemade)
  • Diode 1n4007 (x2)
  • Resistor 220R (x3)
  • Relay 5v (x4)

The Process in Making the Relay Circuit Board
  1. Just like in every Project we draw the schematic and PCB layout to print the circuit and making the board to make the project.
    SchematicPCB
  2. Just like the last project, we make the relay that gives power to the motor feed on the power that receives from the Micro-Controller, but This time we only feed the power when we push the N.O Button. So when we want to cut the power we push N.C button. When we push one of the N.O Button no matter what we do to the other N.O button the motor still runs as we want and won't change unless we push N.C then the other N.O.
  3. After we understand all of the processes we will make the PCB board by acid and drill hole just like the other project.

So the process of making the relay is done!!
Now We Move on to the testing process:
  • This time we only need 5v from the microcontroller (mainly) for the two buttons and LEDs. As for the two relays in the front will also use the 5v. (Arduino)
  • We connect the power from the microcontroller to the T-block pins correctly.
  • Now we connect Motor to one of the T-block (J3) we must connect each pins correctly or it might not be what we expected. Then we connect the power to the other T-block (the power depends on the motor whether the motor use 5v or 20v or 30v) from the source of the power you need.
  • That's it for the connecting process.
  • Now we push the Forward Button (B1) the motor will move just like it's intended. Even if you push the Reverse Button (B2) the motor will not change its course. If we want to switch from Forward to Reverse we need to push the N.C button first then we push the Reverse button. That way the motor will change the way its spin from Forward to Reverse.

So This is the final product of our Project. In this project, we use 3 buttons and 4 relays to control the Motor spinning trajectory (Forward, Reverse, and Stop). Congrats!!
